CAMJ Tiny SLR – the smallest DSLR in the world?

Camjtinydslr2
This CAMJ Tiny DSLR [translated] comes from the school of ridiculously small working gadgets. The 2 megapixel beast (hah!) is a fully functioning camera, which shoots SVGA images, records video at 30 fps and stores it all on microSD cards (like you use in phones). It can accept 32GB cards, which means a *lot* of shots.
Camjtinydslr
Charging is done either via a small portable external charger which uses AA batteries as the power source or a USB port, and the whole thing comes with a one year guarantee. What it really needs of course is a lifetime ‘lost it down the back of the couch’ insurance policy, but that’s the risk you take with silly small, eh? Priced at around $97.00 in Yen stuff. [Via]

Stream Machines

By Simon Munk

It’s finally happened: We spend more time on the Net than on the couch. TV is losing viewers … to laptops, tablets and smartphones. But the boobtube’s far from going away -- it’s just going with you ... online. At the same time, more online content is making its way onto your TV. Crazy, right? Modern video streamers are linking up the Net and TV, allowing you to take “The Real Housewives of New York” on the road wherever you go. Like most housewives, there is no hiding from them! Here are our recommendations for the best video stream machines for your viewing needs. Best … if your favorite network is social

D-Link Boxee Box

This device -- which looks like a Rubix cube with a corner cut off -- collects video content off the Net based on your friends’ recommendations via Facebook, Twitter and Boxee’s own social network. Boxee then delivers Internet feeds to your HDTV in vivid 1080p, with Dolby Surround Sound. It also offers a slick interface, allowing you to use your iPhone or Android as a remote. The catch? Its functionality is in the early days of development, and some video sites are still blocking the technology. (Some sites can be so stubborn!)

$220
Best for Apple Lovers
Apple TV

Tiny, slick and cheap, the Apple TV is hard to beat in the streaming category. Apple’s media streamer grabs music and movies from your computer and streams them to your TV set via HDMI and optical audio technology. It’ll also allow you to rent and stream high-def movies and TV shows online, as well as hook into services and Internet apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Flickr. You can control it with an iPad or iPhone. The drawback? It’s all done via iTunes -- so it only works for Apple-supported file formats and services. Photo: Getty Images

$99
Best for Traditional TV Lovers

Slingbox PRO-HD

The Slingbox performs almost in the opposite manner as a media streamer. It draws high-def TV programming from your standard satellite feed or cable box (or pretty much from wherever you get your TV signal), then slings it out to your desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile phone -- via the Internet. So why whistle while you work, when you can do something so much more productive … like watch “The Jersey Shore”?

Best for Multimedia Maniacs

Sony PS3

Hey! You may think of your Sony PS3 as a game console, but its many multimedia functions offer many more possibilities. Along with playing Blu-ray discs, the PS3 can hook into your computer’s media archive and stream digital TV, movies, music, photos and more to your TV. And, unlike the rival Microsoft Xbox 360, it’ll also connect to a handheld PSP over the Internet -- so you can watch downloaded content anywhere in the world. So, instead of watching your favorite TV shows from your living room, you can travel around the world and watch ’em there! Now that’s progress!

From $300
Best for the Economically Challenged

Roku

Dollar for dollar, it’s tough to beat Roku’s bargain media-streaming solution. Even a low-end model comes with built-in Wi-Fi, an HDMI output and high-definition video handling (albeit at a limited 720p). It’s lacking some of the high-end features that pricier rivals boast, but it’s a good buy for the money. It’s like hiring your cousin the plumber to come over and watch TV -- except your cousin’s actually a lousy plumber.

Canova Dual Screen Laptop. The Italian company V12 Designs has devised a new version of the ‘Canova’ which is a dual LCD laptop. The notebook features dual display with touch-sensitive screens, sketch pad, music score, graph paper, an electronic pen and a dedicated hardware for its smooth functioning.

B-Membrane laptop concept. Created by designer Korean Won-Seok Lee. The B-membrane is a user friendly computer with a membrane like key-board which appears when it is needed, integrated optical drive and when not used as a computer, the projector can beam ambient light effects on any surface you desire.

A innovative concept tablet !

Technology innovation A innovative concept tablet
Korean designers Yonggu Do, Jun-se Kim and Eun-ha Seo have found a more conventional use piezoelectricity, in the form of powering our very own tablets and smartphones. Statistically on an average, users press their touch screens over 10,000 times a day. Ingenious system dubbed simply as the Ecopad, where the tablet or any similar device can utilize the piezoelectricity generated by that ‘tapping’ of touch screens. This in effect forgoes the need for those cumbersome adapters (and any power source for that matter), while the device can literally be self powered throughout a period of days. For those who are not acquainted with piezoelectricity – it is the charge which accumulates in certain solid materials (notably crystals, certain ceramics, and biological matter such as bone, DNA and various proteins) in response to applied mechanical strain.
Electricity is made automatically simply by using your ‘ecopad’. currently commercialized tablet PCs and smart phones  have a very limited battery life – often not more than a day before having to be recharged. on average, people press their  touch screens over 10,000 times a day. the ‘ecopad’ does not require special charging from an adaptor. instead, it generates electricity when a user presses the touch screen due to the nano piezoelectricity film that is located below the display.

Best Android Tablets Available Today

The range of Android tablets on the market is growing at an exceptionally quick pace and each one offers something slightly different than its rivals. Once you have decided to go with an Android tablet and not other platforms like in the case of the iPad 2, HP TouchPad or BlackBerry PlayBook, another difficult decision follows: Which Android tablet is right for you? Here are 5 Android tablets (3 Honeycomb and one Froyo) that are available on the market right now.

T-Mobile G-Slate

The T-Mobile G-Slate elbowed its way through the Android tablet crowd earlier this week and so far has some positive reviews in terms of exceptional hardware and performance. If there were any shortcomings it would have to do with its 4G speeds that are slower than the Motorola Xoom LTE and more complaints about Android 3.0 Honeycomb feeling like an unfinished product. The T-Mobile G-Slate features an 8.9-inch display, Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera and one key feature that no other tablet has on this list, 3D video recording and playback. T-Mobile is also throwing in 3D glasses for free.

Acer Iconia Tab A500

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is another well price Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet set to hit US shores very shortly. The Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet with a 10.1-inch display (same as Motorola Xoom) will reportedly cost $449 and deliberately undercut the base iPad 2 model which starts at $499 (16GB WiFi). For that price, you get a Honeycomb tablet packing a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, microSDHC slot and HDMI output. There is also some custom widgets, DLNA media sharing using clear.fi and a couple of other handy apps. Expect some great games as well like Let's Golf and Need For Speed: Shift

Motorola Xoom

This was the first Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet and although it had a buggy start (no Flash, 4G LTE coming later on, lack of Honeycomb optimized apps), it still stands as a good buy if you don't mind forking out for the higher than normal price tag. Some of the key specs of the Motorola Xoom Android tablet include a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display with 1280:800 resolution, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera for HD video capture and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, full suite of Google Apps and services, access to Android Market, Adobe Flash Player support and a stock Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer correct one of the biggest mistakes of the Motorola Xoom and that is the price tag. The tablet will set you back $399 (16GB) and $499 (32GB). Now of course, this tablet won't technically be able to "transform" without the keyboard dock. That unfortunately is not included in the package and you will need to plunk down an additional $150. This technically makes $450 the lowest price point you are walking out of with the full ASUS Eee Pad Transformer experience. While it ain't cheap, you're still looking at $50 less than the base iPad 2 model for this WiFi-only Honeycomb tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab

The first real Android tablet competition to the iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab sold worldwide in the millions and is still a sought after tablet. While it is the only Android 2.2 Froyo tablet on the list, it deserves a mention as it is still available through US carriers and severely marked down. On paper it doesn't have much to offer (both software and hardware wise). However its solid build and now decent price makes it a worthy option for those looking for an Android tablet that is a lot cheaper than the others on the list while still getting the job done.
